Bulk and wholesale

The Wyoming state flag at about 3.5 by 2.5 inches: a white bison on blue, with the state seal set on the animal's flank, inside white and red borders. It was designed by Verna Keays and adopted in 1917, and the seal-on-the-bison arrangement gives it a silhouette nothing else in a state collection shares.

Hybrid print and embroidery, and why

A seal set into the bison's flank is more detail than thread can carry at this size, so this patch combines print and stitching — print where the linework is fine, embroidery where it holds. The bison stays a bison instead of blurring into a shape, and the surface sits flatter than a fully embroidered patch, which some people prefer on a shirt.

Fabrics it bonds to

Cotton, cotton blends, denim and cotton canvas.

Fabrics to sew

Nylon, polyester shells, coated or waterproof outerwear, leather, faux leather and vinyl. Ranch and work outerwear is often coated canvas — check before pressing.

Applying it

Press the area flat, position the patch, cover it with a thin cotton cloth, and apply firm dry heat, letting the cloth take the direct contact rather than the printed face. Cool completely before moving the garment.

Care

Inside out, cold, gentle, hang or tumble low. No bleach, no fabric softener. Never iron across the face — press from the reverse.

Questions we get

Is the seal visible? Yes — that is what the hybrid construction is for.
