What two gives you
A pair covers a jacket and a bag, or two people, in one order. It also makes symmetrical placement possible — the same patch on both sleeves, or on both faces of a duffel — which a single patch cannot do.
Surfaces that take the adhesive
Cotton, cotton blends, denim and cotton canvas. Denim is the easiest of the lot: it holds heat and the patch does not shift under the iron.
Surfaces to sew
Nylon and polyester bags and shells, coated or waterproof fabric, leather, faux leather and vinyl. Most travel packs are nylon — check the label before the iron comes out.
Applying both
One at a time. Press the area flat, position the patch under a thin cotton cloth, and apply firm steady dry heat. Let it cool completely, then measure from a fixed reference — a shoulder seam, a cuff — before placing the second. A two-band horizontal flag shows a tilt that a round patch would hide.
Care
Inside out, cold, gentle, low tumble or hang. No bleach, no fabric softener. Press from the reverse only.
