Two Egypt flag patches, about 3.5 by 2.5 inches each. The red, white and black bands with the eagle of Saladin at the centre carry detail that needs a bit of size to read properly, and 3.5 inches is where that detail still holds.
Two patches, two homes
The usual split is one on a jacket or a bag that travels and one kept for later. If you are buying for family — and a lot of these are — a pair covers two people without a second order.
Good surfaces
Cotton, cotton blends, denim and cotton canvas. Heavy cotton and denim press most reliably.
Sew instead
Nylon luggage and packs, polyester shells, coated or waterproof fabric, leather, faux leather and vinyl all need a needle rather than an iron. Do not press over an existing printed graphic.
Application
Iron the area flat first. Position the patch, cover with a thin cotton cloth, press with firm steady dry heat, and let it cool completely before the garment moves. Do the second patch only after the first has cooled — aligning two at once under a hot iron is how they end up crooked.
Care
Inside out, cold, gentle cycle, tumble low or hang dry. No bleach, no fabric softener. Press from the reverse side only.
