Ukraine Flag Patch Set: Size, Stitching and How to Apply It

The Mr Patches Ukraine flag set is two embroidered iron-on patches in the flag's blue and yellow, sized for jackets, hats, backpacks, uniforms and travel gear. Two patches rather than one is deliberate: most people put one on a jacket and keep the second for a bag, a cap, or a friend.

The embroidery

Each patch is worked in roughly 8,720 stitches in rayon thread, which holds its colour far better than cheaper polyester embroidery floss under sunlight and washing. The blue-over-yellow division is stitched clean rather than printed, so the edge between the two bands stays sharp instead of blurring after a few washes.

Size and where it fits

Each patch measures about 3.5 by 2.5 inches. That is the standard flag-patch size, and it is small enough to sit on a sleeve or a cap panel without dominating it, and large enough to be read from across a room. On a backpack it works on the front panel or a side pocket. On a jacket it belongs on the upper sleeve or the chest.

Applying it

The backing is a polyamide hot-melt adhesive rated to around 170°C, which means it needs a genuinely hot dry iron to activate — cotton setting, no steam, firm pressure, and left alone until completely cool.

That temperature is also the catch. Cotton, denim and cotton canvas take it without any trouble.
